Allity’s Highwood Court is extending the current ‘Premium home’ of 79 beds to add 24 additional beds which will house a 103 bed facility which aims to meet the needs and expectations of the local senior’s community.

The design of the new wing aims to provide a high quality environment in a modern setting that maximises its surroundings to the benefit of residents and staff, and seeks to provide a care setting that is de-institutionalized. The focus on resident-centred care is embedded in the planning and design. The building has been conceived to be distinctly identifiable and to have a welcoming character that exudes refinement and warmth.

It is designed to evoke a ‘sense of home’ for the residents and aims to express qualities of warmth, security, independence and comfort. Additionally, the design explores opportunities for the physical environment to actively contribute to ‘well-being’ through the inclusion of gardens, natural light, colour, artworks and views while also providing for quiet and privacy. The high quality environment throughout the grounds and the facility is also conducive to promoting teamwork and assists Allity in attracting and retaining quality staff.

The interiors of the space aims to embody everyday liveability and contemporary living through use of texture, pops of colour and a variety of light sources. The lighting allows a transformation of spaces from day to night with subtle changes focusing on different elements, creating a relaxed stylish welcoming habitat.
