Surrounded by farmland, The Royal Mail Hotel is one of Victoria’s most celebrated regional destinations. Following a devastating fire, an opportunity was presented to thoughtfully distil the essence of the original building while bringing it in line with contemporary and emerging architectural thinking.

Design that celebrates food, wine, people and place

Crosier Scott was engaged by Lend Lease with a brief to refine the design of the original building with a more contemporary appearance to take better advantage of the stunning views towards Mt Sturgeon in the southern Grampians. Design of the new facility allowed us to create a functional space with the ability to cater for a variety of events.

The property is surrounded by local flora and fauna, all of which were maintained throughout construction. Key ideals of conservation and community are embedded within the design, a celebration of home-grown produce and regional life can be seen in the selection of colours and materials, preserving traditions and welcoming visitors from far and wide.
